An all-American, midwestern farm girl, Jennifer Myers had worked hard toward a successful career as a dancer in Chicago. But just as her star was rising, she fell for the kingpin of a drug trafficking operation. Drawn to his life of excitement, she soon acquiesced to driving marijuana across the country, making easy money she stacked in shoeboxes and spent like an heiress. Steeped inside moral ambiguity, she sought to cleanse her soul with the guidance of spiritual gurus and New Age prophets to no avail. Only time in a federal prison made her face up to and understand her choices. It was there, at rock bottom, that she discovered that her real prison was the one she had unwittingly made inside herself and where she could start rebuilding a life of purpose and ethical pursuit.

Review
"Enthralling, and dramatic." --Dennis Sobin, Director, Safe Streets Arts Foundation;Trafficking the Good Life is insightful, educational, and, ultimately, a journey to the heart.I hope parents will read this book before their children reach grade school.--Moe Ross, addictions specialist; Director, Northwest Community Counseling Services and Hollyhock Retreat Center

"Myers narrative is a painfully raw and stunningly honest exploration of a woman finding her way through a very masculine world filled with frightening consequences. It is a powerful story of redemption of how one woman finds her voice by facing the choices she has made and learning a truth that is hers and hers alone. I want all my clients to read this book. Beneath the drug story is a story all women can relate to: the desperate search for self, and the ultimate journey to finding the true feminine voice that longs to emerge in what often feels like the United States of Addictions. " --Dr. Linda Savage, author of Reclaiming Goddess Sexuality: The Power of the Feminine --Dr. Linda Savage, author of Reclaiming Goddess Sexuality: The Power of the Feminine

"This book is as much about being human in a hyper-materialistic society as it is about drug culture. A startling account, a gripping memoir."-- --Tony D'Souza, author of Whiteman and Mule

"Trafficking the Good Life is insightful, educational, and, ultimately, a journey to the heart." --Moe Ross, addictions specialist; Director, Northwest Community Counseling Services and Hollyhock Retreat Center

The last time i picked up a book was back in high school, I have never been a reader before. But a great women that i met a couple of months ago told me she knew about Jennifer Myers story i was very interested to know more about her. I continued to ask more questions and she then told me about Trafficking the Good Life. I ordered the book and I could not put it down, while I was reading it i told many others about it and all of a sudden we were all reading it!
The two things that i thought were great about this book were; 1: i was able to relate to many of the feelings that she had. I may have never been in the same situation but the way she expressed her thoughts and feelings were ways that I wouldn't be able to put in words. I couldn't believe how she took those words out of my mind and wrote them down so easily. I love the way she worded everything. The 2nd thing that i thought was fantastic about this book was what happened before and during prison because she expressed it so well. I was once told "I would never wish prison on anyone not even my worst enemy" I have had many people in my life that have gone to prison and i have seen many movies about prison life, but not ones did i think anything or worry too much about it. I started reading Jennifer's book after my boyfriend had gone to prison. The things i have learned from her book and the things that my boyfriend has taught me have made me feel selfish. Selfish for never caring or helping those in my life that ended up in prison and needed me the most. I will never do that again, i will help my loved ones in need. I read her book very slowly because i didn't know what i was going to do after i finished it, but once i read her book i have bought many other books after that and reading is now one of my hobbies, never did i think that reading was going to be so interesting.
I would highly recommend this book to everyone, it catches your eye and you don't want to put it down ones you start reading. I hope to read a second book by Jennifer Myers in the near future.

Exciting and very moving
By barbara s
Found Jennifer's story riveting in her description of driving for a drug syndicate ;the adventure, anxiety, comradery, danger and rewards as well as harsh realities of relying on others in highly consequential situations. Jennifer's terrific account is a great backdrop to the Netflix
show "Orange is the New Black".

I really liked this book
By Sandy
I really liked this book! Jennifer's writing is so captivating and leaves you wanting more. Even though I haven't been through the same thing, I was able to connect to her story. The raw truth of her human experience really hits home on so many levels. Love, addiction, travel, temptation....these are certainly things I've had to face in my life. Most of us have hit "rock bottom" at one point or another, but we just don't write about it for the world to see! Her courage and strength is beyond words. I applaud her for opening her soul, making herself vulnerable and turning her life around!
