Entertaining and clever

An entertaining and clever book that compiles those puzzling expressions indispensable in the mastering of English. This source stands up because provides the reader with the meaning, use of the idiom in the news, and a historical background.
Having learned English as an adult, I am always in search of this kind of books because only through idioms one can truly know a language. I quizzed some native speakers with some of the idioms included in the book, and their responses varied greatly. It ended up being a great conversation piece.

Bought this on Amazon.com. A very interesting book, but not to be read in one sitting. In order to appreciate and remember the various idioms, it is best to read a few, and then come back and enjoy a few more.
